The way to buy materials, to be acknowledged within the market, to sell the rooms, to take care of guests in both Albergo diffuso's and traditional hotels have greatly changed in last 5 years and above all in the last few months.
Tour operators, incoming agencies, customers and even journalists who have interest in new trends have become more and more demanding. The troubles in global, European and Italian economy (easily foreseeable and forecast by us since 1995 thanks to data published by OCSE and Eurostat) do not help, while the numbers of Albergo diffuso's, real or presumed, is increasing.
Traditional hotels also fear that their own customers will stay in AD's room.
We spend a word about traditional hotels; AD's shouldn't take guests away, but should add new ones, increase visibility, get new income for companies. Otherwise an AD adds nothing to the economics of the village it's located in.
Increasing rooms selling, guests expenses, yearly income, requires not only more and more professional AD's, but which also can get greatly renewed and wisely transformed.
The Meeting of Albergo difuso's, related to ADI, held last 12th of March, acknowledged this changes and, for the first time, the need of professional update, and has appointed Maurizio Droli in charge for training. The first ADI Plan for companies' operative training has just been published; its goal is to help entrepreneurs to improve two things:

  • increasing the activity during low season periods
  • increasing the income in periods of greater demand (starting from next summer, if it's possible)
